Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen All Dragon's Dogma 2 Quests
Main story, side quests, missables, and rewards across the three nations.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 contains a large number of quests that span three nations: the human kingdom of Vermund, the Beastren nation of Battahl, and the volcanic Agamen Islands. This page covers the full quest roster with unlock conditions, rewards, and notes on which quests are missable. The game is a single-player RPG with no multiplayer or co-op; all quests are experienced alone with your AI pawn party.
This page does not spoil story outcomes. It tells you where to go, what triggers a quest, and what you earn. For vocation builds and party compositions, see Vocations and party comps. For a step-by-step story walkthrough, see the walkthrough page.
How quests work
Dragon’s Dogma 2 separates quests into main story quests and side quests. Main story quests advance the campaign and are required to reach the ending. Side quests are optional and can be completed in parallel, but many have unlock conditions that require progress in the main story.
Some side quests are missable — if you advance the story past a certain point or make a specific choice, the quest fails or locks permanently. This page flags every missable quest with its failure condition.
Quests are tracked in your Adventure Logbook. The logbook categorizes quests by region and type. Some quests require wearing specific attire or meeting NPCs at particular times of day.

Missable quests
Several quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be permanently missed if you advance the story without completing them. This section lists every missable quest and its failure condition.
Every Rose Has Its Thorn — Must complete all of Captain Brant’s quests before leaving Vernworth for Battahl. If you advance to Nation of the Lambent Flame without completing Brant’s questline, Wilhelmina goes to jail and the quest fails.
Ordeals of a New Recruit — Phill in Borderwatch Outpost must be saved before you progress too far. If you leave the area without completing the quest, Accardo dies and the quest fails.
Prey for the Pack — Rodge must be saved from the wolves. If you leave the area without completing the quest, Rodge dies and the quest fails.
Shadowed Prayers — Nadinia must survive. If she dies, the following quests fail: Candle in the Storm and Crossing in Shadow. You also cannot buy the house in Bakbattahl.
Till Death Do Us Part — Gregor must survive. If he dies, the quest fails.
The Ailing Arborheart — Must be completed before leaving the Sacred Arbor area. Other quests depend on it.
To avoid missing quests, regularly check your Adventure Logbook and complete side quests before advancing major story beats. When in doubt, explore every NPC in an area before moving to the next story chapter.
Quest rewards and economy
Gold and Experience are the primary rewards. High-value gold quests include A Game of Wits (100,000 Gold), The Ailing Arborheart (no gold but unique rewards), and Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge (35,000 Gold).
Wakestones and Wakestone Shards are rare quest rewards that can resurrect fallen pawns or revive the Arisen. The Dragon’s Dogma series is known for its Wakestone economy; saving these for true emergencies is wise.
Rings and equipment appear as quest rewards throughout. Many rings provide passive bonuses such as increased gold find, improved item discovery, or stat boosts. The Ring of Benevolence, Ring of Proximity, and Ring of Grit are particularly useful for different playstyles.
Portcrystal rewards are valuable for fast travel. The Feast of Deception quest grants a Portcrystal, which is one of the few ways to obtain this essential fast-travel item before the late game.
Sphinx riddles
The Sphinx appears at the Mountain Shrine and asks riddles. Correct answers grant gold and items; wrong answers have no penalty but block progress until answered correctly. The Sphinx quest line is optional but rewards players who engage with it.
A Game of Wits — The Sphinx’s riddle quest. Rewards include 100,000 Gold for solving all riddles. Take your time with these; the answers are logical rather than obscure.
Post-game quests
After completing the main story, Dragon’s Dogma 2 allows you to continue playing in the post-game. Some quests only become available after the credits roll.
For post-game activities, see the endgame builds page and the walkthrough page. New Game Plus becomes available, allowing you to replay the story with your levels and gold intact while keeping your pawns.
