Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Free title updates before Norgan
Eternal Ferrystone in June; six skills, three saves, and performance work in the late-August patch.
Capcom did not wait for October 9, 2026 to fix the 2024 campaign. Two free title updates landed first so Dark Arisen would drop into a game that already had unlimited Ferrystones, extra saves, and six weapon skills. This page is those patches. It is not the expansion. If you skip them, you will walk into Norgan with the same four-skill bar that made Warfarer feel cramped two years ago.
June 2026 — Eternal Ferrystone and Portcrystals
The first 2026 quality-of-life update added:
- An Eternal Ferrystone — a non-consumable warp to Portcrystals you have placed or found.
- More Portcrystals in the world, so the warp grid is not the starved 2024 layout.
That is the patch that ended the “Ferrystone as a shop tax” argument. Kinoshita has said they are not forcing you to skip walking; they are giving you the tool the original Dark Arisen players already expected. If you like pilgrimages, leave the stone in storage. If you want to bounce between a Lost Rite door and a Norgan camp after October 9, put it on the radial.
The same window included other quality-of-life work and a broader cleanup of systems players had been shouting about since launch (including store and convenience items Capcom scaled back while extra content was in development). Read the official notice on dragonsdogma.com for the full bullet list; this wiki will not reprint every line.
Install it. There is no reason to enter 2026 Norgan still burning stackable stones.
Late August 2026 — Title Update 3.2 (six skills, three saves, performance)
Capcom announced the second patch for late August, then moved the go-live to September 1, 2026 (evening Pacific / morning British time on the 2nd) to finish polish. Players still call it the August update because that is how it was billed next to Dark Arisen. The payload is the one that changes builds.
Weapon skills: four equipped become six. Every vocation can hold two more skills. Magick Archer keeps a support arrow without deleting a detonator. Mystic Spearhand keeps Mirour Vesture without deleting a kill button. Warfarer keeps Rearmament and still has five real tools instead of three. Norgan enemies, Kinoshita has said, are designed with that six-slot bar in mind. Relic weapons that roll extra skills sit on top of it. See vocation ranks and endgame builds.
Saves: one Arisen becomes three. You get three slots for separate Arisen. Each slot still has three save types: Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save. You cannot make multiple slots of the same Arisen. New slots open when you start a fresh adventure. This is how you keep a Magick Archer hunter and a Warrior completionist without deleting a 2024 file. It is not a chapter-select.
Dragonsplague and Dragonsbaulk Draught. The patch adjusts the condition and adds Dragonsbaulk Draught, a medicine that does nothing for the Arisen but clears Dragonsplague from an afflicted pawn. Official inventory text calls it scentless and tasteless (0.20 kg). 3.1 had already made plague stat boosts show as numbers; 3.2 adds extra combat behaviors so afflicted pawns can look better in a fight while the wipe risk is still real. It is not “Dragonsplague deleted.” Look at your pawn’s eyes before you camp; read pawns.
Performance and 60 FPS. The update includes performance work across platforms. Producer Naoto Oyama has talked about a 60 FPS performance mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. That is a console performance target, not a promise that every scene holds 60 in a blizzard, and it is not the same sentence as Xbox Series S or Switch 2. PC players still live on their own graphics menu; Capcom has also said they intend to revisit PC requirements around the expansion, so treat the 2024 min/rec list as the current official sheet and watch patch notes rather than invented new numbers — system requirements.
Pawn AI, UI, and keyboard layouts. 3.2’s notes go vocation by vocation: stickier Magick Archer targeting on consecutive shots, Archer nock-speed on special arrows, Thief Formless Feint costing more stamina but gaining a vocation-action punish, Mage/Sorcerer barrier tools, and pawn behaviors that peel, grapple, and follow up more actively. New pawn shouts: Explore (hold Go) and High Five! (hold To Me). Afflicted pawns gain extra combat tools documented on Dragonsplague. UI work includes equipment filters, favorite marks, enhancement-material previews, a grab-hold icon, a cleaner Button Mapping screen, Eternal Ferrystone uses counted in the Adventure Logbook, a skip-opening option when you start a new adventure, and two new keyboard control types — one that fires a weapon skill with a single key, and one that cycles skills with a single key. That is why the controls page exists now. Pawn servers also took a scheduled ~90-minute maintenance window when 3.2 shipped. Your 2024 muscle memory is slightly wrong on purpose.
What these patches are not
- Not Dark Arisen. No Norgan, no Jiera, no Lost Rites, no Eir, no Fallen Dragon, no new tattoos. Those wait for October 9.
- Not Hard Mode. Hard Mode is a separate, post-launch project.
- Not new vocations. Ten jobs before the patches, ten jobs after.
- Not a Switch 2 preview. Switch 2 gets the campaign and the expansion together on October 9; these 2026 PC/console patches are the homework the other platforms did first.
Install order before you pre-plan Norgan
- Update the 2024 game until six skill slots exist in the vocation menu.
- Confirm you understand the three-Arisen save rule before you press New Game on a character you like.
- Put the Eternal Ferrystone somewhere you will actually press it.
- Rebuild pawn skills so hired companions are not still on four-slot kits.
- Then open getting started or party compositions as if the expansion were next week — because it is.
If a storefront tries to sell you six skill slots as DLC, walk away. If a video says the August patch is Dark Arisen, close it. The paid work is still the snow, the twelve doors, and the relic cycle documented on the release date page.
Keep this entry next to official patch notes rather than instead of them. When Capcom posts a 3.3 or a day-one Dark Arisen companion patch, the new bullets go there first, then here. Until October 9, your job is simpler: be patched, be on six skills, and do not burn your only Arisen slot on a joke name you cannot clone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.
Is the Eternal Ferrystone part of the $29.99 DLC?
No. The June 2026 title update added the Eternal Ferrystone and extra Portcrystals to the base game for free.
When did six skill slots arrive?
In the late-August title update (Title Update 3.2), which went live at the start of September 2026 after a short delay. It is a free base-game change, not a Dark Arisen exclusive.
Can I use the new save slots on one Arisen?
No. The three slots are for separate Arisen. Each slot has Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save. Starting a new hero is how you occupy another slot.
Did the August patch add Hard Mode or Norgan?
Neither. Hard Mode is in development after launch. Norgan, relics, and Lost Rites are the October 9, 2026 expansion.
Is 60 FPS guaranteed on every platform?
No. Oyama mentioned a 60 FPS performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X as part of the performance work. Series S, Switch 2, and PC have their own limits. Watch official notes rather than assuming a universal cap.
Do I still need these updates if I only buy Dark Arisen on Switch 2?
Switch 2 ships the campaign and expansion together on October 9. You will receive the modern systems in that package rather than as 2026 PS5/Xbox/PC patches you already missed. You still will not get Norgan before that date.
