Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Arisen, pawn, and the creator

New hairstyles and tattoos, the Main Pawn you take north, and where pre-order attire actually lands.

Arisen and Main Pawn

You do not play Eir, and you do not play the Fallen Dragon. You play the Arisen you already made — or a new one — and you walk Norgan with a Main Pawn who shares that creator. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, launching October 9, 2026, lists new hairstyles and tattoos as one of its three pillars, next to the Forsaken Dominion story and the twelve Lost Rites. That is not fluff. Capcom put character creation in the same trailer grammar as a heartless wyrm.

This page is the practical creator and pawn note for the expansion: what is new, what is still the 2024 pawn system, and how the Norgan Fashion Set fits without turning into a fake eleventh vocation.

The Arisen you take north

Dark Arisen is an expansion for the March 2024 campaign, not a new hero file. On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, existing owners buy the $29.99 DLC and keep their Arisen. New players (and anyone who wants a boxed pair) take the $49.99 bundle, which includes the base game; a digital pre-order of that bundle can grant immediate access to the base game so you can start sculpting before October 9. The Nintendo Switch 2 SKU includes both in one package. Details live on pre-order and platforms.

You can also start a fresh Arisen. The late-August title update expanded save slots from one to three, each with Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save. Those extra slots are for separate Arisen, not multiple parallel files of the same hero. If you want a Norgan specialist and a Vermund completionist, that is the tool. If you want three clones of one face, that is still not how it works. See title updates.

Vocations do not grow. The Arisen still picks from Fighter, Archer, Thief, Mage, Warrior, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand, Trickster, and Warfarer. Vocation ranks and endgame builds argue about six-skill bars and relics. The creator does not unlock a class by giving you a tattoo.

New hairstyles and tattoos

Official copy: “Bring Your Characters to Life” with new hairstyles and tattoos for the Arisen and pawns. That is the third of the three major additions, equal in the marketing stack to Norgan and Lost Rites. We do not have a public numbered list of every cut and every ink. Until Capcom posts one, plan for:

  • More hair options in the same creator you used in 2024, including looks that read as northern without being the pre-order attire.
  • Tattoo options that can sell a relic-hunter or a Pathfinder pilgrim without changing stats.
  • Application to the Main Pawn, which matters because other players can hire that pawn from the Rift even though they never join your single-player session.

Cosmetics do not appraise at Jiera. Relics are weapons and armor with stats and skills. Hair is hair. If a rumor claims a tattoo grants Magick Archer damage, it is wrong.

The Main Pawn is still the real companion

The campaign is single-player. Pawns are AI. Your Main Pawn is the one piece of that system you fully author: face, vocation, inclination, and now the new Dark Arisen hair and ink. Hired pawns come from the Rift with whatever their owners built. That loop does not become human four-player questing because the expansion added snow.

For Norgan around level 40 and Lost Rites from level 20, the Main Pawn’s job matters more than the new fringe. A Fighter or Mage Main Pawn still covers the holes most Arisen leave open; see party compositions and the pawn guide. Rebuild skills after the six-slot patch so your pawn is not walking into a blizzard with a four-skill bar from 2024.

Dragonsplague still exists. The August patch adjusted it and added a costly cure path so the condition is a decision again instead of a save-file jumpscare. It did not remove the need to look at your pawn’s eyes before you camp in Norgan.

Norgan Fashion Set — Northern Attire

Pre-order and early-adopter bonus: the Norgan Fashion Set / Northern Attire. Official rules, not forum folklore:

  • It is sent to in-game item storage.
  • You collect it by talking to an innkeeper at any inn.
  • The base game is required to access it.
  • Digital copies pull it from the store you bought; physical copies use a voucher code.
  • Capcom notes the bonus may also be sold later, and that content can change.

This is a fashion set for a body that is about to walk in snow. It is not relic gear, it is not a Lost Rites unique, and it is not Eir’s quest outfit as a stat stick. Put it on for screenshots, take it off if a relic chest piece rolls a skill you actually want. Do not spend Rift Crystals trying to “appraise” it at Jiera.

If you skip pre-order, you still get the new hairstyles and tattoos that are part of the expansion itself. The fashion set is the bonus; the creator extras are the pillar.

Character Creator & Storage, saves, and Switch 2

Owners who used the 2024 Character Creator & Storage tool can still transfer Arisen and Main Pawn data on the same account, per Capcom’s support FAQ. Dark Arisen does not advertise a brand-new standalone creator disc. Expect to adjust hair and tattoos inside the full game (and inside whatever creator flow your platform already had) after the expansion is installed.

Switch 2 players start with base plus expansion in one package, so the creator extras and Norgan arrive together on October 9. They can still pre-order for the fashion set. They cannot play the 2024 campaign on Switch 2 before that date the way a PS5 bundle pre-order can unlock the base game early — confirm on the Nintendo listing you actually click, because store copy differs by region.

A creator checklist that is not vanity

  1. Decide whether this Arisen is your Norgan hunter or a new slot. Three save slots are three people, not three backups.
  2. Set Main Pawn vocation and inclination for the Norgan plan you actually intend, then pick the new hair.
  3. Leave room in the visual for relic helmets. A masterpiece fringe under a full helm is a tree falling in a forest.
  4. After you install the expansion, visit an inn before you march north so Northern Attire is in storage rather than in a support ticket.
  5. Take a screenshot. The pawn you hire out to other Arisen is a billboard for this wiki’s how to play advice, whether you like it or not.

The faces waiting in the snow — Eir and the Fallen Dragon — will not care about your tattoo. Your pawn will, because that pawn is the only person who has to look at it for 25-plus hours. Make it something you can stand in a blizzard.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.

Do new hairstyles and tattoos change stats?

No. They are creator options listed as a Dark Arisen pillar. Relic weapons and armor, appraised by Jiera in Norgan, are the items that roll stats and skills.

Where does the Norgan Fashion Set go?

Into in-game item storage. Talk to an innkeeper at any inn after launch. It is a pre-order / early-adopter cosmetic, not relic loot.

Can I make three save files of the same Arisen?

No. The title update added three slots for separate Arisen. Each slot has Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save. You cannot clone one hero across extra slots.

Does my Main Pawn come to Norgan?

Yes. The campaign is still you plus up to three AI pawns. The Main Pawn you created — new hair, new ink, old inclination — is the companion who actually walks the Forsaken Dominion with you.

Can I start the creator before October 9?

Digital pre-orders of the $49.99 bundle can grant immediate access to the base game on PS5, Xbox, and Steam, so you can build an Arisen early. The expansion content, including Norgan, still waits for October 9, 2026. Switch 2 ships base and expansion together.
