Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Dark Arisen on Every Platform
Same October 9 date, different SKUs, and a Switch 2 debut for the 2024 campaign.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches October 9, 2026 on four boxes: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The expansion is still upcoming. This page is a platform desk, not a review of a live patch. Use it to pick a SKU, then confirm price on pre-order and PC iron on system requirements.
The campaign is single-player. Pawns are AI, including Rift hires from other players’ saves. “Users Interact” store tags do not mean a four-player Norgan raid.
PlayStation 5
PS5 is the 2024 home of the campaign for a lot of players. Existing owners buy the $29.99 expansion. New players buy the $49.99 Dark Arisen product that includes the base game. DualSense over USB is supported. Oyama said the team tuned 60 FPS in Performance Mode on PS5 as part of the run-up to the expansion. That is a console performance target, not a promise that every blizzard in Norgan holds 60 in Quality Mode.
PS5 digital pre-orders of the bundle can grant the 2024 campaign immediately. The snow still waits until October 9. If your PS5 already has a 2024 save, install the June Eternal Ferrystone patch and the August six-skill / three-save patch before launch week. Those title updates are free and already in the wild.
Xbox Series X|S
Same two SKUs as PlayStation: $29.99 DLC or $49.99 bundle. Ray tracing is not available on Xbox Series S. Series X is the box that matches PS5’s RT conversation. Oyama grouped Xbox Series X with PS5 when he talked about 60 FPS Performance Mode. Series S buyers should expect a performance-first picture, not a matching RT preset.
Xbox Game Pass status is a Microsoft listing problem, not something this wiki will guess. If the 2024 campaign is already in your library through any Xbox store path, you still need to confirm whether Dark Arisen is sold as DLC on that same license. Do not assume a disc from 2024 plus a digital DLC on another profile will stack.
PC (Steam)
Steam sells the expansion as app 2593290 and the 2024 campaign as 2054970. The DLC requires the base game. The $49.99 bundle includes both plus, on some listings, camping kit and soundtrack extras. Steam may show October 8 because of Pacific unlock time; the marketing date remains October 9. See release date.
PC is the only platform that asks you to pass a GPU sheet. Minimum is still GTX 1070 / RX 5500 XT 8 GB for a 1080p / 30 estimate. Capcom said those numbers may be revised — refresh Steam, do not trust a screenshot of this paragraph. Denuvo and a five-machine-per-day activation limit remain part of the 2024 PC build.
Ultrawide, mouse and keyboard, and Steam achievements are PC extras. Capcom still recommends a controller. If you care about pawn gifts and rift traffic, you need a network connection even in a “single-player” RPG.
Nintendo Switch 2
Switch 2 is the headline platform of the June 2026 Nintendo Direct: the first time Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on Nintendo hardware, with Dark Arisen in the same package. There is no $29.99 Switch 2 upgrade for a campaign that was never on Switch. Hands-on previews (including PCMag and other outlets after Gamescom) described the Switch 2 build as playable, with Capcom sounding pleased. The video on this page is VGC’s Switch 2 gameplay capture from that window. That is preview language, not a locked 4K / 60 claim. Official Gamescom director footage sits on previews.
If you already finished the game on PS5 and want a portable Norgan, you are buying a new copy. Capcom has not advertised cross-save from PS5 to Switch 2 in the public Dark Arisen materials this wiki is using. Plan to recreate the Arisen or stay on one ecosystem.
Physical Switch 2 copies follow retailer stock. Digital Nintendo pre-order windows have been listed separately from Steam. Always read the Nintendo Store countdown rather than a PS5 clock.

Saves, accounts, and pawns
The August title update raised save slots from one to three. Each slot holds autosave, interim save, and last inn rest. You cannot make multiple slots for the same Arisen. That rule is the same on every platform that received the patch. Switch 2 ships with those systems in the combined build.
Pawn hiring still needs online. Offline, you keep your Main Pawn and whatever local hires the client allows. Dragonsplague adjustments from August apply everywhere; the medicine and pawn behavior are not platform-unique. Read pawns rather than hunting a “PS5-only plague fix.”
Which platform should you pick?
- Stay where your 2024 save lives if you have a level 40 Arisen. Norgan is built for that character, not for a new file you will not finish before October 9.
- Switch 2 if you never owned the campaign and want handheld plus the expansion in one purchase.
- PC if you already live on Steam and your GPU clears the sheet.
- Series S if you accept no RT and a performance-first image.
Do not buy two platforms expecting a cloud Arisen. Do not wait for Hard Mode to pick a box; that mode is post-launch and unscheduled. Do not pick a platform because a vocation is “better” there — vocations are the same list everywhere.
After you pick, go back to the tools hub and run the getting started checklist so the box you paid for actually has six skills, extra Portcrystals, and a pawn you trust before the snow opens.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.
Does Switch 2 include the 2024 campaign?
Yes. The Switch 2 product contains Dragon's Dogma 2 and the Dark Arisen expansion together. There is no $29.99 Switch 2 DLC.
Will I get 60 FPS?
Oyama cited 60 FPS Performance Mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. PC depends on your settings and GPU. Switch 2 has been described as playable in previews, not as a locked 60.
Can I move my PS5 save to Switch 2?
Capcom has not advertised Dark Arisen cross-save between those platforms in the public materials this page uses. Assume you stay on one ecosystem.
Is Xbox Series S a bad idea?
It launches on the same day without ray tracing. If you already play the 2024 campaign there, the $29.99 DLC is still the correct SKU.
